Aunt Ena had been telling us about the lights at the zoo for weeks so we were excited to head out to the Indianapolis Zoo on a cold afternoon. I have never put quite so many layers on Avery for a planned outing ever before.
Getting out of the car she was overflowing with excitement to see the animals.
She looks like she can't move in this picture, but she could still get around.
We got to the zoo early so that Avery could see the animals, and it turns out we got there just before they shut the Plains section down for the day. The lions were feisty and one even let out a huge roar as we stood by the fence.
We saw a ton of light features that were shaped like animals - peakcocks, giraffes, and even her favorite - dinosaurs!
We are all bundled up on our walk around the zoo.
