walking on the field
watching a teammate score a goal
I wish the captoin could read "running down the ball," however she is actually running off the field for some water.Recap of her first season: Orange Crush was a little more like Orange Crushed. There weren't any W's in their record column, but that's okay.
Avery liked soccer, but she didn't like getting hot or dirty. She learned that the other team isn't going to share or give you the ball, but that in this case, it's okay to take the ball away from the other kids. (Talk about the opposite of what we normally try to teach her!) She scored a goal in the second to last week, but was actually more excited that after she scored the game was over so it was snack time. She liked her coach, Coach Brian, and still talks about him weeks later. It reminds me that as coaches and adults we can impact even the youngest of kids by spending time with them and encouraging them. In the end, I think it was a great learning experience for Avery and it was very fun for us to watch each week.
