On July 4th we got together with our group of friends for the first time in months. Avery loved helping Carrie with Catherine. The kids ate dinner together at the official "kid table."

The backyard was perfect for the kids to run around. We decided to bring out the sparklers. It was quite the experience with six 3 and under toddlers running around. But, in the end all the kids had a good time with them.

Here is the annual fourth of July pictures of all the kids. (We're missing the two littlest babies - Catherine and Nate.) This wasn't the best pictures of them, but it made me laugh. What are they looking at? Are they all intrigued by Ian eating his popsicle?
From left to right - Ian, Caroline, Anna, Avery, Davis, and Japhet

She loves popsicles, and was all smiles when she finished her popsicle as she asked us for "another one?"
This 4th of July took on a deeper meaning this year as a soldier who graduated from NCCS and was the son and nephew of two women I work with died over the weekend while serving in Afghanistan. It truly made me think of the true meaning of Independence Day and made me thankful for all those who serve our nation so proudly and bravely.
